HoleTox® works by relaxing the internal anal sphincter muscle. During treatment, Botox is strategically injected to reduce excessive contraction and pressure within the anal canal.
Dosage and injection sites are determined following a detailed assessment of muscle tone, fissure history, and patient concerns. Dosage will not exceed 148 units.

Pre-Care

Avoid alcohol consumption for 3 days before receiving anal botox.
Consult with your medical provider, and discontinue blood thinning medication such as Ibuprofen, Excedrin, Aspirin, Aleve, and Fish Oil a week before injections.
Post-Care
It is important to follow the correct after care instruction to make the most of your procedure. Here are our guidelines:
No working out for 24 hours after receiving anal Botox injections.
No penetrative anal sex or oral to anal stimulation for 3 days after anal botox injections.
Botox takes a full 2 weeks to be completely activated. Please allow the full 2 weeks before judging the results.

There are no major side effects from Botox for anal fissures. We ask that patients avoid working out for 24 hours after their treatment, and avoid penetrative sex for at least 3 days.
