NasolabialFold Filler
What Is Nasolabial Fold Filler For?
Nasolabial folds, often called “smile lines,” can deepen over time due to aging and reduced support from the mid-face. Filler can be used to soften these folds and improve the overall smoothness of the lower face.
Careful assessment of the mid-face and surrounding structures is important when treating this area to create balanced, natural-looking results.

Our Approach to Nasolabial Fold Filler
At Lushful Aesthetics, nasolabial folds are treated using the fern technique, which involves placing filler superficially within the dermis to strengthen the tissue and soften the appearance of smile lines.
Research has shown that filler injected too deeply in this region can increase the risk of migration due to the high degree of movement around the mouth. By injecting more superficially, we are able to “airbrush” the folds for a softer, more natural result while minimizing the risk of filler migration.

Yes. Because we only utilize hyaluronic acid-based fillers in the nasolabial and perioral areas, our filler for nasolabial lines can be completely dissolved.
Typically, nasolabial fillers take at least 2 weeks to settle. However, some med spa patients may have residual swelling and should expect to wait at least 4 weeks to appreciate the final result.
Patients with excessive skin laxicity and deep nasiolabial folds are likely candidates for a facelift to address all their concerns.
Patients can gently massage their nasolabial fold filler 24 hours after injection to reduce swelling and improve healing. But it’s not a necessity. Patients should NOT massage their filler earlier then 24 hours, as we do not want to contaminate the area post-injection.
Numbing is applied prior to nasolabial fold filler to make the procedure comfortable. Patients typically report minimal discomfort.
At Lushful Aesthetics we address nasolabial folds utilizing filler with the fern technique. This aesthetic clinic technique is designed to inject filler very superficially into the dermis to strengthen the tissue and prevent filler migration. Research has shown that filler injected too deep in this region leads to more migration due to the degree of dynamic movement in the perioral region. By injecting superficially we are able to airbrush these lines for a softer look without worrying about filler migration after our treatment for nasolabial folds.
